Radio Sales Account Executive

Great Plains Media has an opening for a Radio Sales Account Executive with our station group in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois. Major Responsibilities of This Position:
- Excel at prospecting and seeking new advertising clients through networking, cold calling, referral and other means
- Hold face to face meetings with prospective clients to identify business needs and proactively develop a customized advertising solution to meet marketing needs and growing their business
- Have strong listening, developing strong relationships and earning trust with clients to ensure success and repeat business
- Closing business and executing the client campaign as agreed upon
- Coordinating all aspects of an advertising and digital campaign including writing scripts, coordinating digital and commercial ad production, billing, collections, promotions, and events
- Involvement in the local business community, developing relationships with business owners and decision makers

- An understanding of marketing principles
- Have a creative mind to put together unique ideas and solutions for our clients
- Comfortable in asking for the customer’s business
- Outside sales experience
- Successfully prospect and develop new business
- Computer literacy and proficiency in multiple software applications
- Internet, social media, and digital marketing savvy
- Excellent listening skills and strong curiosity to learn about your clients’ businesses
- Problem solving ability – someone who sees a problem as an opportunity to develop business
- A belief in your ability to sell and no fear of being on commission because you know the harder you work the more you make
- College degree
