Paul Davis of Bloomington, Peoria and Normal, Illinois, a leading provider of fire and water damage clean up and restoration services, is helping to keep a local nonprofit safe at Children’s Home & Aid . In the midst of COVID-19, on Wednesday, April 1 beginning at 10 am, the restoration franchise office will deep clean and apply disinfectants to the leading child and family services agency at 403 S. State St. in Bloomington.
Chris McConnell, Paul Davis’ General Manager and his team of technicians have donated time, expertise, labor and supplies to the social services organization for many years, “This is our way of continuing to give back, and hopefully save the lives of adults, children, and families. We follow the Paul Davis social purpose credo as defined by the desire to do good while doing good work,” he said. “Since Illinois State Governor JB Pritzker announced a Stay at Home Order effective March 21 and COVID-19 has increased throughout the state, we have general concerns about keeping people healthy and will help to contain the spread of the disease,” said McConnell.
The in-kind service initiative aligns with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) efforts to work with partners around the globe to expedite the development and availability of medical products to stop the outbreak. The strain was named COVID-19 by the World Health Organization, which took the extraordinary measure of declaring the outbreak a public health emergency of international concern.
According to McConnell, Paul Davis provides deep cleaning and disinfection services utilizing qualified and government-approved chemicals. The products used will disinfect against the 2019 Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 based on the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) emerging viral pathogen policy. Paul Davis’ full-time crews are well prepared to respond and properly apply disinfectants on structures and surfaces at Children’s Home & Aid as a critical step in safeguarding public health. Services are performed without harm as professionals select protective apparel, gear, and solutions for each project arising from biological work, especially with microorganisms.
McConnell noted that while the COVID-19 virus is new, killing viruses, bacteria, mold, and other pathogens is not. “This is what we do. Every day we help property owners and the people who live and work in those properties,” he said. For more information, call 309.828.1199 or email chris.mcconnell@pauldavis.com.
